Satellite Internet service provider Starlink has gone live in Vietnam, with commercial services now available in the country.

Elon Musk's SpaceX subsidiary went live with services last week, while the company also signed a satellite launch deal with local satellite company VinSpace.

It means that Starlink has now gone live in six Southeast Asian markets, with Vietnam following launches in the Philippines, its first in the region, back in 2023, plus Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and East Timor.

The company is also set to launch commercial services in Cambodia and Laos at some point this year, as per its coverage availability map tracker.

Customers have been able to place orders for Starlink services in Vietnam since August 13, through the company's local website.

Households are available to place orders for Starlink services in Vietnam for residential plans starting at 1.13 million dong ($43) ​per month, plus hardware costs of 8.66 ⁠million dong ($330).

Starlink's foray into Vietnam comes nearly a year-and-a-half after SpaceX signed an agreement with the Vietnamese government to launch ⁠Starlink on a trial basis, waiving foreign ownership limits for the service.

The trial period lasts until 2030, while authorities have limited the number of subscribers to 600,000 during ​the trial ​period.

Starlink's entrance into the market wasn't its only announcement in Vietnam last week, as the company also penned a deal with VinSpace as the latter's satellite launch partner.

As part of the agreement, VinSpace's satellites will launch aboard a Transporter rideshare mission in 2027 as part of SpaceX's rideshare program, which enables multiple customers to share a single launch.

VinSpace plans to develop and launch its first satellites into orbit in 2027.

VinSpace was only set up in November 2025 and is part of Vietnam's largest private conglomerate, Vingroup. The company aims to become a full-stack aerospace company.

The company is responsible for the research, development, manufacturing, and on-orbit operation of its satellites, while these satellites will support the on-orbit demonstration of in-house developed technologies, strengthen VinSpace's satellite engineering capabilities, and pave the way for future commercial space applications.
