The deal includes replacing the current network of 18-data centers with two sites, one, in Spain and in the US. The contract also covers software and management and administration processes during a 10-year period.
The goals of the strategic agreement include upgrading the current system, deploying the latest technology, and centralising services management.
In a statement the building company said some of the main characteristics required were the necessary flexibility to support the growth of the international business, standardisation and centralisation of the platforms used with a view to improving usage cost efficiency, and a firm commitment to using technologies of the future, such as cloud computing.
"A distinctive feature of the agreement is that all services will be managed from two datacentres, in Spain and the US, equipped with cutting-edge backup and security systems. This centralised management model will guarantee the delivery and management of services to the company's headquarters and remote locations, with information about costs and service times."
