South Korean cloud and software firm Okestro has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with data center and property developer DC Korea.

According to the preliminary agreement inked by the pair on January 22, the data center will be built in Okestro’s headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul’s main financial district, as per Chosun Biz.

DC Korea will be in charge of designing and constructing the data center, and Okestro, which specializes in cloud orchestration, will provide services to DC Korea’s other data centers in South Korea.

The Yeouido data center will also reportedly use Neural Processing Units (NPUs) and AI models developed in South Korea.

Details about the facility’s estimated completion date were not shared.

Okestro was set up in 2018, and provides orchestration, server virtualization, and AIOps services for cloud environments.

The company set up a cloud services subsidiary called Okestro Cloud in January 2025, revealing plans to develop a 40MW data center in Sejong City.

DC Korea’s existing data center portfolio is concentrated in the area around Seoul, located in the surrounding cities of Goyang, Incehon, and Gunpo.

The company has worked on 12 data center projects, 380MW of which have been completed and 340MW of which are currently in development.
