According to Nepalese press reports the South Korean government has extended its financial support to the Nepalese government for the establishment of a Government Integrated Data and Training Center (GIDTC) in the Himalayan Kingdom.
In a press release, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) said the additional US$3.5 million will help support build the infrastructure of e-Government by establishing a government integrated data center in Singha Durbar.
"KOICA will also provide equipment, materials and IT training necessary for the center's operation, and support capacity building in the information communication technology through training programs," states the release.
The Korean government has extended the support recognizing that bridging of digital divide is one of the most important determinants to alleviate poverty and facilitate sustainable economic growth in the country.
