Japanese telco firm SoftBank Corp. is set to launch an AI Data Center GPU Cloud solution in Japan from October 2026.

The AI cloud offering will be a part of SoftBank's neocloud business and will be based on the Infrinia AI Cloud OS stack.

A beta version is currently available.

The AI cloud will be powered by SoftBank's AI computing infrastructure, including Nvidia GB200 NVL72 deployments, within SoftBank's data centers in Japan. The company has not specified which data centers it will be using. The Infrinia AI Cloud OS will provide Kubernetes-as-a-Service and Inference-as-a-Service capabilities.

SoftBank operates data centers through its IDC Frontier subsidiary. The company broke ground on what could be a 1GW campus in Tomakomai, Hokkaido, in April 2025, and also has data centers across the Tokyo metropolitan area (Tokyo Fuchu, Tokyo Ariake, Tokyo Nihombashi, Kanagawa Yokohama); Tohoku (Fukushima Shirakawa); Kansai (Osaka Suita); and Kyushu (Fukuoka Kitakyushu).

SoftBank is also set to develop a 150MW data center at the site of a recently closed LCD factory acquired from Sharp.

SoftBank launched the Infrinia AI Cloud OS in January of this year, with the company saying the software maximizes GPU performance while enabling easy and rapid deployment of cloud services.

SoftBank also offers a cloud service in Japan using the Oracle Alloy offering. Dubbed Cloud PF Type A, the service is similarly said to be offered from SoftBank data centers, with sites in both eastern and western Japan to provide redundancy and network resilience.

Japan's alt Inc. and Highreso Co., Ltd. also have a GPU cloud offering in Japan, launched in 2025.
