Australian neocloud Sharon AI is to lease capacity in Sydney from data center firm GreenSquare.

GreenSquare last week announced that it has signed a long-term customer contract for the first stage of its SYD1 data center campus in Western Sydney with Sharon AI.

Sharon AI is expected to use the capacity to deploy approximately 8,200 Nvidia Blackwell Ultra GPUs. Initial operations are targeted for Q4 2026.

GreenSquare CEO Charles Penny said: “Securing this customer commitment is an important milestone for GreenSquare. It validates our platform and the demand for AI-ready infrastructure that can be delivered with speed, density, and operational discipline. Our focus now is on execution – bringing next-generation capacity online safely, reliably, and on schedule.”

Nasdaq-listed Sharon currently utilizes Equinix in Sydney and NextDC in Melbourne for data center capacity.

The company also listed GreenSquare and CDC as data center partners in its most recent earnings presentation.

The company said it has 212MW of capacity online or in development, and some 64,000 Nvidia GPUs due to be deployed by mid-2027.

The firm, which went public earlier this year, recently bought a former paper mill in New South Wales, and in the US has a large project planned in Texas.

GreenSquareDC launched in October 2022, and was acquired by Swiss private equity firm Partners Group back in March 2025.

Its Sydney campus is a former IBM site. Located at 3 Brookhollow Avenue, the site includes a legacy data center the company is refurbishing, and plans to develop new buildings for a 110MW campus.

GreenSquare launched with plans for a development in Perth, Western Australia, but dropped the project earlier this year. It is planning a large-scale development in Melbourne, Victoria.
