Power distribution and monitoring vendor ServerTech has integrated the latest version of firmware running its line of intelligent Power Distribution Units with IBM’s Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) solution Active Energy Manager.
IBMs solution measures, monitors and manages energy and thermal components of IBM servers, storage and network systems, as well as non-IBM systems. It also talks to facilities management applications and PDUs, and feeds information into IBM’s IT monitoring solution Tivoli.
Nathan Rabe, a staff software engineer at IBM, said the integration required minimal effort, “which I believe is a testament to Server Technology's high-quality firmware and keen focus on backward compatibility.”
ServerTech’s latest version of its firmware (6.1) deepens granularity of power and current data that can be retrieved from its PDUs equipped with the company’s Per Outlet Power Sensing (POPS) technology.
The PDUs now also have a new interface, featuring a Systems Summary dashboard that gives customers quick visibility into in-feed power, current, load, temperature, humidity, CDU status and alerts.
