Server Technology has released a rack-level wire-free power monitoring solution which uses RF Code sensor tags to capture and transmit power feed and device level data from its cabinet power distribution units. Software then produces the information as a power monitoring report.
Server Technology President Brandon Ewing said the solution will help customers looking for easy ways to measure power and make related decisions.
"The combination of RF Code's sensor tags with our CDUs gives them an easy, cost-effective way to get the data they need to make smart power-related decisions for their data center," Ewing said.
"Customers . . . just plug a RF sensor tag into a Server Technology CDU. There aren't any costs for IP addresses, configuration or IP maintenance."
The RF Code R170 Tag can plug into the serial port on the Server Technology smart of switched CDUs with or without per outlet power sensing and with per inlet power sensing. The sensor then collects information from the CDU, transmits it to the readers.
The solution can provide information on amperage, capacity, breaker status.
