Sentrum, a specialist in datacenter solutions, has announced that is has secured an anchor tenant for its Woking facility, just weeks after planning permission was confirmed for the latest development. The client, a well known household name operating in the public sector, approached Sentrum to secure the space in order to ensure it could meet an anticipated rise in datacenter requirements resulting from planned expansion. Due to its growth plans, finding a flexible solution such as Sentrum's was of paramount importance. The client has currently committed to taking 1,500 square meters of technical space, with an additional 223 square meters taken as ancillary space.
"The early interest that we have seen in Sentrum IV demonstrates that the need for datacenter space remains on the increase, commented Andy Ruhan, CEO at Sentrum. "Organisations of all sizes are experiencing growing space pressures in existing datacenters and with self-build developments incurring long lead times, and spiralling costs, companies are quite rightly opting in favour of outsourcing their requirements to specialist operators. We were chosen as the preferred supplier as a result of our reputation for providing the highest specification datacenters in the market. We expect the new Woking facility to reach full capacity levels well before its doors open for business in August.
The Sentum concept has been designed to address a gap in the market to provide best-of-breed datacenter facilities of less than 50,000 square feet. Typically, requirements of this size have been met with the obstacle that economies of scale dictate they are too expensive to warrant a self-build option - driving organizations to look for alternative solutions, whilst ensuring they remain in control of their equipment and data.
