An American physical security solutions provider launched a new security monitoring data center near Boston, Mass., earlier this week. The facility - described by the company as a "fusion of manned security and technology" - provides intelligent video and streaming audio over IP technology that interfaces with analytics software and manned security.

G4S Wackenhut, the provider, said in a statement that the G4S Security Monitoring Data Center will provide remote video surveillance of buildings, property and people, remote video guard tours and remote audio and video chaperoning of employees. Remote hosted services will include incident, visitor and gate management, access control system and alarm monitoring.

Clients can use the center's services through a Web portal that gives them instant access to reports, video clips, video content analysis, video alarm response and behavior recognition algorithms.
