Schneider Electric has launched new 150kVA and 175kVA modular Power Distribution Units (PDUs). The company said they allowed users to configure and expand their power distribution network quickly.

The units include TP-1-rated isolation transformers, which deliver power to the load efficiently and reduce cooling demand, Schneider said. They also feature built-in circuit monitoring for a complete view of power consumption at the distribution-network level.

The PDUs’ back plane supports up to 24 PDU modules, each of which includes a breaker, a cord and a connector. Schneider has reduced the PDU frame from 750mm to 600mm rack widths, using its NetShelter SX rack.

The solution includes built-in power-management capabilities, two 400A sub feed breakers, simplified load balancing with automatic recognition of the type of power distribution module plugged in, its ampacity and length.

Local management and monitoring can be done through the PowerView display interface. Finally, the solution is compatible with Schneider’s data center monitoring software StruxureWare Central.
