European cloud provider Scaleway is set to offer access to the Alpine Quantum Technologies (AQT) IBEX Q1 quantum computer via its cloud platform.
The IBEX will be accessible via Scaleway's Quantum-as-a-Service platfom, which brings quantum processing units to industrial companies, research institutions, public authorities, educational institutions, and developers on a cloud platform.
The IBEX Q1 is a 12-qubit trapped ion system, and will be available on Scaleway's platform on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 10:00 to 17:00 CET.
The computer is physically located in Innsbruck, Austria, and fits into two standard 19-inch data center racks, operates at room temperature, and consumes less than 2kW of power.
Dr. Felix Rohde, director of cloud partnerships and business development at AQT, said: "Together with Scaleway, AQT offers our customers hands-on access to the best quantum computers in Europe. We are convinced that the synergy between our quantum computers and Scaleway’s cloud infrastructure will open up completely new capabilities and international markets ."
Valentin Macheret, engineering manager of quantum technologies at Scaleway, added: "We are thrilled to integrate AQT’s trapped-ion technology into our quantum ecosystem. AQT’s approach offers remarkable fidelity and unique all-to-all connectivity, which are critical for running complex and deep quantum circuits. We are actively enabling the HPC-QC hybrid paradigm, giving developers & researchers the seamless environment they need to leverage this new computational paradigm. "
The IBEX Q1 is also available on Amazon Web Services' (AWS) Braket quantum platform, having been added in November 2025.
AQT is a spin-off of the University of Innsbruck and the Austrian Academy of Sciences.
Scaleway, via its QaaS platform, also offers access to QPUs from Pasqal, IQM, Qandela, Qsim, and Aer.
