Red Engineering Design, a UK-based engineering firm specializing in mechanical and electrical systems design, has adopted Romonet’s predictive-modeling software suite to use in designing infrastructure solutions for clients’ data center projects, the companies announced Tuesday.

The two companies will collaborate on design projects to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the resulting buildings.

Nick Vaney, director of Red Engineering Design, said Romonet’s suite was a good fit for the engineering firm’s services model, which relied on integration of state-of-the-art design practices and complex integration solutions.

“Romonet's software products and expertise will now enable us to efficiently cost-optimize our designs over the full life cycle of the facilities," Vaney said.

UK-based Romonet’s software suite uses predictive modeling to predict and manage cost and risk levels for data centers or cloud-computing environments. The suite enables discovery and predictions of data center capacity, energy efficiency, total cost and risk.

Its modeling relies on mathematical computation and simulation, without the need for instrumentation, metering, software agents or historical data, the company says.
