Raritan, the infrastructure and power management specialists signed a marketing and implementation alliance with consultancy Capgemini covering the north American market.

Raritan will work with the consultancy's Network, Operations and Infrastructure Services evolution [NOISe(SM] service offering.

In a statement the companies said the partnership would see Capgemini's NOISe team using Raritan's PowerIQ energy management software, intelligent power distribution units, the dcTrack IT asset and infrastructure management software and CommandCenter Secure Gateway for remote access and control management.

Services would identify underutilized and inefficient servers in order to reduce IT footprints and costs. Use real-time information on power-related issues -- ranging from IT energy costs to carbon emissions generated by IT devices to rack capacity -- to take corrective actions and track improvements. Save energy by enabling customers to schedule servers to be "turned on" for additional processing power during peak work periods, then "turned off." Track and collecting data center temperature and humidity information to eliminate hotspots, cool IT racks optimally, and obtain early warning signs of potential equipment problems.
