Quantum computing firm Qilimanjaro has launched a new data center in Barcelona, Spain.

The company last week announced the inauguration of Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech's quantum data center in the city's innovation district. The facility has the capacity to host up to ten quantum computers, available in both analog and digital modes, and connected with classical HPC resources to maximize flexibility and performance.

Dr. Marta P. Estarellas, CEO of Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech, said: “This center is much more than a technological facility; it is an open ecosystem where industry, research, and public institutions can prepare for the future. Quantum computing is not a distant promise, it is already transforming the way we understand innovation.”

Founded in 2019, Qilimanjaro is a quantum computing startup spun out of the University of Barcelona, the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, and the Institut de Física d'Altes Energies.

Through its SpeQtrum Quantum-as-a-Service (QaaS) platform, Qilimanjaro will offer cloud-based access to quantum computers to customers in Europe.
