Nordic data center firm Polarnode has sold a data center development site in Pori, Finland.

The company has entered into an agreement to sell its shovel-ready Pori data center project to an undisclosed European data center operator.

Terms of the deal were not shared.

The Pori project comprises 26 hectares of land with legally valid zoning and building permits in place, while grid capacity has also been secured.

This transaction reflects the quality of the work our team has put into developing a fully permitted, grid-ready asset, and we look forward to seeing the project move into design and delivery phases,” said Mikko Toivanen, co-founder & chairman of the board at Polarnode.

Founded last year, Polarnode announced plans for a 100MW campus in Pori in May 2025, on land owned by the city.

Polarnode is also planning a 30MW campus in the Juhansuo district of the Finnish town of Nokia and a 40MW development in Heinola.

The company is developing a campus in Lappeenranta for European AI cloud firm Nebius that could reach more than 300MW at full build-out.

Last month, Polarnode announced plans to develop a data center in Keminmaa. The 109-hectare, 500MW project could go live in 2028. The firm also lists plans for a 250MW project in Kuopio that is also due live in 2028.

Savills and Augusta & Co acted as financial advisors to Polarnode in the transaction, supporting the company in identifying the right partner and structuring the deal.

Real estate development company CompassForge Ventures announced plans for a 150MW project in Pori last year – the site has since been acquired by ASP DC.

Glesys operates two data centers in Pori, acquired from Verne last year.
