Plans have been filed for a large-scale data center outside Melbourne, Australia.

HyperDC Pty Ltd has filed a planning permit application with the Victorian government for a data center development in Moorabool.

The project would be located at 715 Ballan Road, a plot of largely vacant land outside Geelong, some 75km (47 miles) west of Melbourne.

Little information about the company is available, but HyperDC describes itself as a data center developer.

According to its website, HyperDC’s MBL1 site totals 39 hectares, and the company is aiming to develop a campus offering 400MW of IT capacity. Further details have not been shared.

An individual named Gerard Adamsons lists himself as a director of the company on LinkedIn. He was previously at Australian residential developer Villawood Properties.

The site is close to the 300MW Victorian Big Battery site. Built by HMC Capital-backed Illuma, the site totals 210 Tesla Megapacks. AusNet Services’ existing Moorabool Terminal Station is also located close by.
