Plans have been filed for a new data center outside Dallas, Texas.

BT Gateway Data Center LLC has filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation to develop the BT Gateway Data Center at 4989 County Road 2656 outside Royse City.

The company aims to develop a 100,000 sq ft (9,290 sqm) data center. Construction on the $384 million project would run from August 2026 to February 2027.

Royse City is a city in Rockwall County and a suburb northwest of Dallas. The project site, however, sits just over the border into Hunt County.

The BT Gateway LLC shares an address with Texas-based renewable energy infrastructure developer Belltown Power.

Belltown has more than 3GW of renewable energy projects in operation or development. Belltown announced plans for six data center projects in Texas last year, saying the sites would total 1.425GW of capacity. Full details weren’t shared but the firm said they would be largely centered around the Dallas–Fort Worth area. Today its website lists plans for ten sites totaling 4.1GW.

The company has previously filed plans for a 900-acre, 1.5GW data center project between Houston and Dallas in Jewett, Leon County, known as Project Kahla. The campus would include 500MW of behind-the-meter natural gas capacity and a 500MW grid connection.

Belltown was reportedly previously looking to develop a project in Quinlan, Hunt County, but withdrew its application earlier this year, according to a local anti-data center group.
