US service provider Phoenix NAP has established a primary network access point (NAP) in Interxion’s data center in Amsterdam.
It is its first European cloud node and will be used by the Infrastructure–as-a-Service provider to promote technologies from the local Phoenix market to other geographic regions in Europe, Phoenix NAP vice Mayor Michael Johnson said.
“By growing their operation, Phoenix NAP is creating opportunities for added high-paying jobs that can attract top-talent to our region,” Johnson said.
“Phoenix NAP’s growth in the technology industry expands the company’s global reach while generative a positive economic impact in Phoenix and the region.”
Phoenix NAP now offers an on-demand cloud solution called Secured Cloud out of the Interxion data center.
The Arizona-based company updated its Secured Cloud offering in May this year, allowing users to create virtual machines hosted at different data centers around the world.
It said at the time, it would also be setting up a NAP in Ashburn, Virginia.
Its main data center in Pheonix has 90,000 sq ft of raised floor and connections to 21 carriers.
