Data center services provider Peak 10 is expanding its Atlanta inventory with addition of a three-phase data center build out within an existing 75,000 sq ft building. The company said it was beginning construction of the first 15,000 sq ft phase this week.
The building is located on Windward Parkway in Alpharetta's high-tech corridor. Completion of the first phase is expected in spring 2014.
The site's size is 12 acres, giving the company enough real estate to continue building it out into a data center campus.
David Jones, the company's president and CEO, said Peak 10 had been selective with the expansion. “We will be investing significant capital into this site, a campus that will afford Peak 10 exceptional expansion capabilities,” he said.
“We anticipate continued exponential growth for our Atlanta operations and the ... area affords us all of the essentials for demand growth: stable power infrastructure, multiple fiber carriers and access to a technology-oriented employment community.”
The new building brings Charlotte, North Carolina-based Peak 10's total Atlanta-market footprint to more than 100,000 sq ft. The company operates in 10 US markets.
