Australian managed services provider Outcomex has been awarded a AU$5.9 million ($4.41m) contract by the New South Wales technical and further education (TAFE) institution, to create a platform for its applications, systems and data.
Over the next twelve months, the company will provide hardware, software and managed services including the TAFE private cloud, which will rely on the government’s data center (GovDC) infrastructure.

Outcomex sells Cisco, Microsoft, VMware and NetApp products and services, and its customers include Australia’s College of Law, WellPet Vets and the Sydney Children’s Hospital.
Formerly Uplinx, the company initially provided networking services before diversifying its range of offerings; the company changed its name last year, stating the new name gave a clearer idea of the service it provides, i.e. “delivering business outcomes” to its customers.
TAFE recently signed a AU$9.14m ($6.94m) data center services contract with Deloitte, including Oracle cloud and the group’s identity management software-as-a-service.
