Oracle has expanded the list of its own products supported by its data center networking fabric called Oracle Virtual Networking.

The fabric technology now supports all of the company's Sparc servers, its high-availability storage technology and Oracle Linux and Oracle VM. The fabric provides up to 80Gbps connectivity to the server, according to the vendor.

Raju Penumatcha, senior VP of product development at Oracle, said, “Customers moving to virtualization and cloud can reap the benefits from our broad support of servers, OS and hypervisors to achieve business agility from their infrastructure.”

In addition to supporting the full Sparc server portfolio, including the latest M6-32 product, Oracle Virtual Networking not also supports the Fujitsu M10 server.

Support for the company's Solaris I/O Multipathing enables customers to eliminate single points of failure from virtuaized environments, Oracle said. This increases the storage infrastructure's availability.

Oracle Virtual Networking drivers are now included in Oracle VM and Oracle Linux with the Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel Release 2. This was done to streamline access, eliminating the need to download or install the drivers separately.
