Oracle plans to deploy its own data centers in Brazil to help customers migrate to its cloud services.

It said the move will help it to grow its client portfolio around Software-as-a-Service (SaaS).

Oracle said it plans to officially announce the new facility ÔÇïÔÇïin December at its Oracle CloudWorld event.

Legislation in Brazil means that local companies wanting to use hybrid or other cloud services currently need to keep data inside of the country.

It is believed that Brazil could be the first stop in a wider South American expansion strategy for Oracle.

Oracle Brazil president Cyro Diehl said the project is still being developed but currently there are three alternatives for its new cloud data center -  the construction of a physical data center, the creation of the data center with an international partner of Oracle or a data center that will be offered with local companies.
