Options IT, an IT infrastructure outsourcing service provider that caters to hedge funds and brokerages announced on Monday acquisition of a colocation business from the brokerage division of the Paris-based bank BNP Paribas. As part of the deal the company gained ownership of three data centers in California, Texas and New Jersey.

The new facilities will add to the company's 12 existing data centers in the U.S., Europe and Asia. Besides data centers, the deal also expanded Option IT's portfolio of regional offices - adding new California and Texas office space - and its engineering, management and support staff.

The company did not disclose terms of the deal in detail.

Options IT serves its clients using the Infrastructure as a Service model. As a result of the acquisition some of BNP's clients' will be served through the buyer's infrastructure. The company said in a statement that the transition will be seamless for those clients.
