NYSE Euronext, operator of some of the world’s largest stock exchanges, has made an agreement with the US wholesale data center provider DuPont Fabros to pull its financial trading network into DuPont’s east coast data centers.

Under the agreement, NYSE will build and operate one of its Secure Financial Transaction Infrastructure access centers at DuPont’s NJ1 data center in Piscataway, N.J. The access center will have a direct optical link to NYSE’s new data center in Mahwah, N.J.

SFTI is the stock exchange operator’s connectivity backbone for traders. It provides access to global execution venues, liquidity pools, market data, clearing applications and other players in the financial industry.

The New Jersey SFTI access point will include access to all NYSE Euronext US equities and derivatives markets, NMS data and more than 20 more market centers around the US. The link is scheduled to light up in the first quarter of 2012.

DuPont CEO Hossein Fateh said the link would meet the data center provider’s clients’ requirements for a direct low-latency connection trading markets and matching engines.

"NYSE Technologies’ SFTI access center will allow NJ1 to offer even greater performance for latency sensitive trading platforms over data centers without a direct connection via this SFTI Access Center," he said.

In addition to interconnecting with NYSE’s Mahwah data center, the access center will interconnect with a NYSE proximity hosting site in Weehawken and with an SFTI network of other access centers in New York and Chicago.
