Nvidia has announced plans to build an AI data center in Sweden.

The chipmaker will partner with the Swedish Business Consortium, whose members include AstraZeneca, Ericsson, Saab, SEB, and Wallenberg Investments, to build Sweden's largest enterprise AI supercomputer.

In its first phase, the supercomputer will consist of two Nvidia DGX GB300 SuperPODs, which will be used to run AI training and inference at scale. AstraZeneca will use the supercomputer to further AI-enabled drug discovery, while Ericsson plans to roll out new business models with the support of the system. The supercomputer will also enable Saab to advance its defense capabilities and support SEB’s aim of improving productivity through the use of AI.

In addition to the supercomputer deployment, the partnership will also see Nvidia establish Sweden’s first AI technology center, which the company said will help advance AI research and upskill local talent.
