The following content is from an older version of this website, and may not display correctly.NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) will launch the Yuanqu Data Center in Shanghai on February 2 following an agreement with China Telecom Shanghai, a subsidiary of China Telecom Group.
The collocation Tier 3 data center will introduce Global e-VLAN point of presence (POP) to provide international wide-area Ethernet service with customers will be able to connect their servers and systems to a high-speed backbone network directly on the premises of the data center.
The facility will provide co-location, managed operation (monitoring, maintenance, security, etc.) and network, including NTT Com's Arcstar Global IP-VPN and Global e-VLAN services.
Shanghai NTT Telecommunications Engineering Co Ltd will provide customer support in Japanese, Chinese and English on a 24/7 basis.
Completely redundant facilities will be offered for commercial power supply, air conditioning, UPS, and electricity generation and distribution, with no single point of failure, enabling a Tier 3 ranking by The Uptime Institute (TUI).
The data center will also use multiple carriers to provide backup connection and Internet access. NTT Com assisted China Telecom Shanghai in both the design and construction of the data center based on NTT Com's high standards for excellent, uniformly global data-center services.
These standards, which comprehensively cover a wide range of conditions amounting to some 130 items, are closely aligned with international standards including The Telecoms Industry Association (TIA), TUI and ASHRAE.
