Moving on up

NTT Communications, itself a subsidiary of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT) Corporation, announced that Ozaki would be replacing Takanobu Maeda, who led NTT Com Asia for the past seven years.

“I am very honored to join NTT Com Asia, an organization that delivers high quality and innovative ICT solutions for enterprises to establish a strong foothold in Hong Kong, Asia and beyond,” said Ozaki, who was previously the head of carrier relations and planning division at NTT Communications.

“Under the leadership of Mr. Takanobu Maeda since 2009, the organization has experienced tremendous business growth and transformed itself from a telco to a data center, cloud and ICT industry leader.”

He continued: “Investing in technology and talent is the first step in enterprises’ digital transformation. The new executive team is built upon this vision to align our leadership and organizational structure to make this happen.”

At the same time, the chief strategy officer of NTT Com Asia, Brandon Lee, has joined NTT Holding Company to develop the group’s global business, but will stay on NTT Com Asia’s board of directors.

The reshuffle comes just a year after Tetsuya Shoji became the new CEO of NTT Communications and began to aggressively expand the business. The company also recently opened the second phase of its Hong Kong Financial Data Center. At the time, DCD talked to then-executive vice president of cloud Taylor Man about NTT’s plan for Hong Kong.
