NTT Communications plans to expand its ICT capabilities in India with a majority acquisition of data center services company Netmagic Solutions.

The two companies said they had reached an agreement on the acquisition, still subject to approval, which will provide NTT communications with access to Netmagic’s seven data centers in Mumbai, Chennai, Noida and Bangalore.

In return, Netmagic will have access to NTT Com’s global network.

NTT Communications SVP Katsumi Nakata said the acquisition will not only help NTT provide services for India but will broaden its Asia-wide network for cloud services.

“By leveraging the complementary strengths of both companies with the continued leadership of Sharad Sanghi, CEO of Netmagic, we will accelerate enhancement of our global cloud services for the provision of high quality ICT services,” Sanghi said.

NTT said it has a number of ongoing expansions worldwide, which includes data centers. It launched its global cloud vision last year for end-to-end cloud services.

Last year it opened a Point of Presence in Brazil NTT do Brazil and announced a new data center – Cyberjaya 3 –  in Malaysia that will commence construction in June.
