NTT's data center unit has expanded its landholdings in Mumbai, India.

Citing data from proptech platform Square Yards, local press including the Economic Times reports actor Jeetendra Kapoor and his family sold a land parcel in Mumbai's Andheri area for Rs 855 crore ($99.7m) to an affiliate of NTT GDC.

The 2.39-acre site currently houses the Balaji IT Park and includes three buildings.

The property was sold through two family-owned firms, Pantheon Buildcon Private Limited and Tusshar Infra Developers Private Limited.

NTT Data confirmed the transaction to ETRealty and said: "The land acquisition in Mumbai is part of NTT Global Data Centers' accelerated global expansion, reinforcing its position as one of the top data center providers in the world and the leading provider in India.”

Bollywood legend Jeetendra began his acting career in 1964 and has been in more than 200 films.

NTT acquired India-based NetMagic in 2012. NTT now has more than 18 data centers in operation or development across India, totaling more than 265MW across the Noida area of Delhi (x2), Mumbai (x7), Chennai (x2), Kolkata, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru (x3).
