The courting of Yahoo! for its North Eastern US data center has been ongoing for several months.
Other states including Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan and Illinois are also working to attract Yahoo!.
Reports say the offer of 8 megawatts of low cost hydro electric power might sway the decision in favour of north western New York.
A 60,000 sq ft facility is being planned.
"They are not going to Texas or Florida or even staying in California," Schumer said. "Our cool temperatures have become a major asset."
