Nlyte Software is pressing ahead with plans to expand its operations and accelerate product development after receiving US$12m in Series C funding from a Silicon Valley cleantech investor.

The company provides performance-based solutions for data center infrastructure management (DCIM).

It also plans to use the money to build up its partner ecosystem and recruit talent, nlyte said.

NGEN led the funding for the round. NGEN managing director rosemary Ripley said NGEN believed nlyte had potential in the "rapidly growing" DCIM segment.

In the past year alone, nlyte has experienced rapid growth, according to nlyte Software CEO Jon Temple.

"[We have] accelerated customer acquisition, added valuable partnerships such as HP, BMC and VMware and won numerous product awards and delivered significant new product capability," Temple said.

The DCIM solution offered by nlyte is used to use optimize physical capacity for power, cooling and space.
