Fringe Infrastructure, a new Nigeria-based Edge data center operator, has launched.

The company announced its official launch this week along with its first facility in the Ikoyi area of Lagos.

The company said the facility offers 1MW of behind-the-meter capacity and can host up to 72 racks.

Few details about the facility or the company are available.

On LinkedIn, Vremudia Oghene-Ruemu, previously of MainOne, American Tower, and environmental services firm Veolia, is listed as a co-founder alongside Andrew Agbo-Madaki.

Fringe said it is targeting five facilities across cities in the region by 2030. The company says it operates a “power-first deployment model” with direct connections to power plants and independent power producers.

A spokesperson for Fringe Infrastructure said in a press release: "Our Edge-first strategy is not an experiment or a pilot. It is a deliberate, capital-disciplined bet on distributed, power-efficient infrastructure that brings colocation, enterprise-grade interconnection, AI inference, and sovereign computing to the regions and industries that need it most."
