Brazilian fiber optic Internet provider Nicnet is to open more data centers in São Paulo.

The company this week announced that it will inaugurate two new data centers in the interior of São Paulo in February.

Few details were available beyond that the facilities will be Tier III quality.

According to CEO and founder Roberto Manella Amoroso, the goal is to "meet the growing demand for mission-critical environments with a modern, distributed, and auditable infrastructure."

Nicnet launched its first colocation facility in the Cravinhos area of São Paulo in March. Historically, the company has provided Internet services across Brazil.

Nicnet is not to be confused with the Indian government department the National Informatic Centre, also known as Nicnet.
