NexGen Cloud has deployed Utilidata's Karman AI power control platform across its data centers to improve the efficiency of its AI infrastructure.

The collaboration aims to increase the available AI compute capacity within NexGen's already deployed data center footprint, maximizing its capacity in a grid-constrained environment.

NexGen claims the Karman AI platform, which runs on a custom Nvidia module and provides real-time rack-level power optimization, can increase usable capacity by up to 50 percent.

Karman samples data at more than 1 million times per second, and can respond with sub-20 millisecond latency, providing real-time visibility, controls, and safety mechanisms necessary to allow data center operators to fully utilize provisioned power capacity.

The neocloud has initially deployed the platform at its Montreal data center, and will roll it out across all of its European operations. This will enable customers of its AI cloud platform, dubbed Hyperstack, to use infrastructure at a lower price.

Following the European roll-out, NexGen will also use Karman AI at its planned AI data centers across North America and the Nordics, which will total hundreds of megawatts.

NexGen was founded in 2020, but launched its flagship platform, Hyperstack, in September 2023. In April 2025, the company raised $45 million in a Series A funding round. NexGen has previously declared plans to invest $1bn in an "AI supercloud." Based on Hyperstack's documentation, it has three data center locations in Canada, Norway, and the US.
