Michigan based managed applications hosting company Nexcess is expanding its UK presence and will be operating from a 4D data center in Crawley, just a few miles from Gatwick airport.
No excess of ambition
The web hosting company, which specializes in open-source e-commerce platform Magento and content management systems (CMS), has points of presence in Miami, San Francisco, Sydney Australia and Amsterdam in the Netherlands. Since its inception in 2000, Nexcess has created multiple open source Magento plug-ins and extensions such as Turpentine, Sentry and Alarmbell.
The facility features 10,000 sq ft (930 sq m) of technical space which will hold up to 400 racks at full capacity, 2N redundant power reaching 3MVA when fully fitted. It is carrier neutral and offers colocation services, cloud peering and direct connections to cloud providers.
It is one of three data 4D data centers in the vicinity of London, another one being in Kent and the other in Surrey, from which Nexcess already operates.
