New Zealand's high profile cinema special effects company Weta Digital has invested in a multimillion dollar datacenter built on over 150 double density 1280 blade servers from HP.
The company said its water cooling system from German supplier Rittal was among on of the most important aspects of the project.
The media company was behind the award winning visual effects on films such as The Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Current projects include the science fiction epic The Day the Earth Stood Still, and Steven Spielberg's version of Tintin.
