A new research study has revealed that companies in both India and China view themselves as the most aggressive' adopters of information technology in the Asia-Pacific.
According to the Gartner study, 2006-2007 IT Spending and Staffing Report companies in the region spend approximately 1.4 per cent of their revenue on IT operations, compared to 2.6 per cent in the US.
In China, IT capital spending is 1.7 per cent of company revenue, whilst South Malaysia and South Korean companies have an IT operations budget of 1.2 per cent.
Analyst John Roberts, speaking to the Business Times of Singapore: "Asia-Pacific IT organizations must take advantage of opportunities to apply good practices from experiences elsewhere around the world because, in general, they lag in IT adoption."
