Sydney-based cabling distributor, Comsol, has announced it is partner with local racking manufacturer, B&R; Data Systems, as part of its plans to focus on data center management.
National sales manager, Gavin Green, said the distribution deal would allow it to fulfill reseller demand for racking and server mounting equipment. B&R; Data Systems' product range includes 19-inch cabinets and racks for server and networking equipment, IP-rated, security and wall-mounted cabinets and accessories. The company is a subsidiary of Australian electrical enclosure manufacturer, B&R; Enclosures.
While happy with its Anixter relationship, B&R; Data Systems general manager, Alan Pettigrew, said Comsol would grow its market share in the data center space.
"We were open to bringing on a new distribution that could take us into areas that we haven't necessarily been getting good traction in," he said. "Comsol was of particular interest because it is actively selling into the data center space, while we were more on the infrastructure side. It seemed like a good fit."
Green said it would bundle the products with its existing data center portfolio, including new management products from LanDesk and NetClarity, as well as its KVM and cabling range.
