Springfield Land Corporation has announced it is to build a data centre in western Brisbane, Queensland.
The 6,000m┬▓ Tier III+ Polaris Data Centre will feature N+2 redundancy across core power and cooling systems infrastructure, as well as high-availability raised floor space. Project-managed by Clifton Coney Group, the A$100 million facility, located in the Greater Springfield suburb, will be backed-up by a dark fibre network and host the mission-critical IT systems of government departments and utilities as well as local and international companies. According to the developers, Polaris Data Centre will be vendor neutral and will be designed to be critical to the availability and management of the city’s key IT infrastructure and services, including hospitals, banks and government agencies.
APC will provide network-critical physical infrastructure technology Springfield under a recently announced alliance with the developers.

Greater Springfield is one of the fastest growing regions in the world. Springfield Land Corporation is set to invest over $12 billion in the new suburb which is projected to have a population of 850,000 by 2025.
