The following content is from an older version of this website, and may not display correctly.Access Northeast, a Boston, Mass.-region managed services provider has acquired the hosting business of RezZilliant, a software and service provider to the health care industry that decided to get out of hosting business and focus on its software offerings.
Through the acquisition, Access Northeast gains two data centers, growing its footprint to a total of four facilities in the New England region, bringing the company's total raised-floor inventory to about 40,000 sq ft. The two former RezZilliant data centers are located in Waterbury and Hartford, Conn. The buyer plans to use them as disaster recovery sites for its Boston-area clients and as additional nodes for its cloud offering.
"Our Massachusetts enterprise customers will have access to geographically diverse facilities, allowing them to house redundant systems for ease of management across a single Access Northeast network," Access Northeast CEO Rob Stephenson said in a statement. "Additionally, they'll have access to another Parthenon Cloud virtualization node from which to deploy primary or secondary applications."
RezZiliant, the seller, will now become Access Northeast's hosting customer. The company's President and CEO Mark Gollino said divestiture of its hosting business was driven by the need to concentrate on its software offering for hospitals and medical providers ÔÇô a business that has been growing rapidly.
Most of RezZilliant hosting personnel will remain with Access Northeast, which has also taken Gollino on as a consultant.
The buyer is backed by Bay Capital Advisors and Spring Capital Partners, who cumulatively invested $5.7m into the company late last year.
