A power outage in San Jose, Calif., has caused downtime for at least one data center this morning. Power was cut off to a NaviSite facility, following a day of severe storms in the region.

Utility power was cut off around 4:45 a.m. PST. The data center was down for 40-60 minutes before generator power was restored, according to a NaviSite statement. The company did not specify how many clients were affected by the outage.

The facility is one of 15 the company operates in the US and UK. The 25,000 square foot data center is used to provide colocation, managed services, email and cloud-based services.

Also affected by the San Jose power outage was eBay-owned ProStores, according to a posts on the company's twitter feed. It was not clear which facility the company's infrastructure was hosted in, however.

As of about 10:30 a.m., 17 outages were affecting up to about 500 customers in the area, according to PG&E; - the utility serving San Jose area. The company did not provide an estimated restoration time.
