Time Warner Cable subsidiary NaviSite announced a new backup service for enterprises as part of its NaviCloud Intelligent Storage (NCIS) suite of solutions. NCIS Vault provides companies with on-premise data protection and storage capabilities with data replication to the NaviCloud platform.

“NaviSite is pleased to announce we are expanding our NaviCloud Intelligent Storage service suite with our latest offering based on the Actifio platform,” Chris Patterson, VP of product management at NaviSite, said. “This advanced data protection solution is ideally suited for our enterprise customers who are looking to enhance business availability and eliminate backup and restore windows.”

NCIS Vault leverages Actifio’s Copy Data Storage system and their patented Dedupe-Async replication technology to reduce the amount of replicated storage a business produces without losing critical information. In the End-to-End service option, the solution includes installation, configuration and set up of the data-protection schema as part of the NaviSite service.

Alternatively, customers may choose to operationally manage their own edge device and purchase replication service to the NaviCloud based hub site.

NaviSite also announced the NCIS Share service, which enables organizations to give their employees the ability to save and share large files in the cloud while allowing IT administrators to determine who can access what corporate data anywhere, at any time, using any device.
