Air conditioning and climate control company Munters has won what it says its largest contract yet, for US$10m worth of air handling units.
According to a report by the Rockbridge Weekly, the units will go to a leading IT provider which will use them in its data center.
The 22 units required under the deal will be manufactured at Munter's factory in Buena Vista, Virginia.
Each will have a 14-foot diameter rotary and sensible heat wheels for process cooling.
The report said they will be expected to remove 9MW of heat from the building.
Munters said it had to hire new engineering and production staff to complete the order.
Munters customers include the US Air Force, which uses its cooling units for aircraft hangars, and Intel, which last year named it the recipient of its Prestigious Supplier Continuous Quality Improvement award.
