Rackswise announced earlier this week a deal with the Jamaican data center and IT consulting firm Modern Power and Cooling Technology (MPCT). Jamaican company will sell Rackwise data center infrastructure management (DCIM) software in the Caribbean and Central America.
Kingston-based MPCT provides a wide range of services in its markets. In addition to data center planning, design and management, the company also does IT systems integration.
The deal gives MPCT customers a DCIM option, while giving Rackwise easy access to the Caribbean and Central American markets through an already established company in those markets.
MPCT CEO Wayne Cunningham said tools for real-time data management were increasingly important in achieving operational objectives.
“Defining and executing effective data center management strategies is critical to optimizing operational efficiencies and effectively utilizing all assets across the global IT infrastructure,” Cunningham said.
Rackwise’s core offering is called Rackwise Data Center Manager – a solution with multiple layers customers can chose from. The company sells its software through both traditional licensing models or using the cloud-based Software-as-a-Service model for data centers with less than 100 racks.
