Modus Unitech, the specialist data center division of Modus Group, has begun work on a major project for Fujitsu Services to convert an existing warehouse into a new data center. The £44 million project in Stevenage is due for completion in Spring 2008.
The new data center has been designed to achieve Tier Three status as defined by the Uptime Institute. In addition, the project will utilise leading edge engineering solutions to deliver one of the most environmentally friendly buildings of its type in the UK. Amongst other things the design will include the ability to retro-fit a wind turbine in the near future.
Modus recently won the contract to carry out the work as part of its long term framework agreement with Fujitsu.
