ABC Capital, a major Mexican financial services firm, has consolidated ts entire IT infrastructure onto IBM PureSystems, the vendor's all-included converged-infrastructure solution.
ABC Capital is a combination of two companies – ABC Capital SA and Operax Consulting Services. The company had two core banking solutions and more than 50 legacy applications running on more than four different operating systems.
It had three types of virtual servers, four different kinds of databases and outdated technology with limited capacity, according to IBM.
Sergio Mendoza Alvarez, ABC's director of technology, said, “In order to become more competitive in the market, ABC Capital was looking to build an infrastructure that could support the mobile technology and social network requirements of our customers. The integration of our platforms using IBM PureSystems will allow us to meet these goals and reduce the migration time for our multi-core systems, from two years to seven months.”
IBM says it has sold PureSystems to about 8,000 clients since it launched the converged-infrastructure line. It offers different flavors of PureSystems, depending on the client's application requirements.
The line includes solutions for cloud infrastructure, virtual desktop infrastructure, SAP and big data analytics, among others.
