Grupo Merza, a major Mexican supermarket and wholesale store chain, has deployed SAP Hana on Cisco UCS (Unified Computing System) servers in its national network.
The company recently completed a 90-day implementation of the SAP Sales Analysis for Retail Analytic Rapid Deployment Solution, powered by Hana in-memory computing platform. It provides a plethora of business tools, such as key performance indicators, mobile dashboards and reports.
Ramon Alvarez, country manager at SAP Mexico, said, “In a rapidly changing world, businesses need a real-time platform to power new experiences, with actionable insights and simplified operations to beat their competition. We are very pleased with the results of the implementation of Grupo Merza.”
The customer said the solution has significantly shrunk the time it takes to process information reports and transactions.
Cisco UCS is a full-package data center architecture that includes pre-integrated computing, network, storage access and virtualization resources. The solution deployed at Grupo Merza runs SAP software components optimized for UCS.
Cisco launched UCS in 2009 and has since sold the solution to about 28,000 customers, including the majority of Fortune 500 companies, according to the vendor.
