According to local press reports, Albany-based Internet Service Provider, Maxnet, is responding to the increase in demand for internet-driven applications and the outsourcing of mission critical business IT services, by building what will be New Zealand's biggest Internet data center.
Despite investing over AUS$500,000 in system upgrades to increase its capacity to 200 servers, Brett Herkt, managing director, Maxnet believes that based on current growth projections, the exiasiting facility will be full within a year. To accommodate for this increasing demand, the company has secured additional space to increase capacity by a further third.
