The Marine Corps Base in Hawaii is seeking vendors to refurbish its data center.
The B208 data center is located at Kaneohe Bay, Oʻahu.
In a request for proposals, the US Navy said that it plans to replace four computer room air-condition (CRAC) units, two uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units, and install new redundant generators, and a lightning protection system.
It also calls for general repairs and replacements to the building itself.
The Marine Corps Base Hawaii (MCBH) dates back to 1918, but the site expanded at the outset of WWII, after it was attacked along with Pearl Harbor.
Command for all units in Hawaii fall under the command of the US Pacific Command (USPACOM) which is headquartered at Camp H. M. Smith on Oahu. That camp has its own data center.
